Perhaps the most exciting and charismatic superstar ever to grace a World Wrestling Federation ring, Shawn Michaels, the founder of the controversial D-Generation X, is the self-proclaimed ICON of sports-entertainment. Michaels holds the distinction of being the only competitor in history to capture the "Grand Slam" of the Federation (holding the Federation Title, Intercontinental Title, European Title and Tag Team Title).

Injuries have kept the Heartbreak Kid from competing in the ring since WrestleMania XIV. However, ever one to seek the spotlight, Michaels returned in November when he was named the new Commissioner of the World Wrestling Federation! Even though Mr. McMahon promised to appoint a "free thinking, independent" commissioner, Michaels� orders, at first, seemed to have coincided with the interests of The Corporation.

When Michaels prevented The Corporation from helping Shane McMahon while he was under attack, McMahon tried to fire HBK. When that didn't work, he ordered The Corporation to ambush him. That worked. Michaels suffered severe injuries. He underwent disk surgery and was soon back in the Federation fold. He still remains unchallenged as the Federation's Commissioner, and he's out for revenge, making The Corporation's existence a miserable one.

Michaels recently opened the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy with his mentor, Jose Lothario, in San Antonio. He is also the head of the TWA (Texas Wrestling Alinance). He also resigned from his title as Comm of the WWF to become the Official Spokesperson of the WWF.

Along with his new commitements he is married to former Nitro Girl Whisper and they both have a beatiful baby boy.

Although Shawn is not seen much by the fans of the WWF, he still remains a hero to many them. Many still have the hope that The Heartbreak Kid will return and continue to break the hearts of the many fans that believe in him. Hopefully this will happen. Whatever the outcome is, Shawn Michaels will still be the icon, the mainevent, the show stopper and the best sports entertainer of all time.

HBK Career History

1998-1991

Detailing Shawn's career as one half of the tag team known as the Rockers. Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty were a team ahead of their time, Shawn's first big break into the wrestling business gave us a glimpse of things to come.

1992

The beginnings of the Heartbreak Kid ! Shawn Michaels career skyrocketed following the split of the Rockers and in 1992 Shawn formed an alliance with Sensational Sherri.

1993-1994

In 1993 Shawn formed an alliance with his best bud, Big Daddy Cool Diesel. The two wreaked havoc on the entire federation and eventually captured the tag team titles.

1995

1995 could be described as the beginning for Shawn Michaels. The Heartbreak Kid began what was a monopoly on the pro wrestling business and his popularity soared.

1996

Shawn Michaels returned to his mentor Jose Lothario for guidance in the run up to his Wrestlemania 12 match with Bret Hart. What many consider the best year of Shawn's career. 1997-1998As the WWF's Raw ratings plummeted the federation took a new direction with a new attitude and a new group. Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Chyna formed the Original and in many peoples opinions the best Degeneration X.

1999

His in ring career may have been over but as the WWF commishioner Shawn Michaels continues to shock, stun and surprise on a regular basis. The sheriff lays down the law HBK style ! No Shawn Michaels website would be complete without a small dedication to Mrs. Hickenbottom. In March 1999 Shawn married former WCW Nitro girl "Whisper" Rebecca Curci.
