After spending time on the independent circuit as Terra Ryzing (including a tag team with Perry Saturn), he entered WCW in the mid 90's under the same name. He was mainly given televised squash victories on and off for several months before disappearing. He eventually returned with a new gimmick, a snobby frenchman named Jean-Paul LeVesque in 1995. Towards the end of his tenure with WCW, he was scheduled to be given a Tag Title reign with Steven Regal and a raise. He declined the offer, instead opting to join the WWF in early 1995 as Hunter Hearst Helmsley. His initial persona as an American blue blood was not too far off from the character he portrayed in WCW. He started off with a strong push against mid-level competition, but it was quickly curtailed in Spring 1996.

Triple H's career took a dramatic upward swing when he enlisted the services of his female bodyguard, Chyna. The duo joined forces with his long time friend Shawn Michaels to form D-Generation X and change the face of the World Wrestling Federation forever. After Shawn took time off for injuries, Triple H asserted himself as a premier superstar by taking over as leader of the faction.

But one year later, Triple H went from one of the most popular superstars in the Federation to one of the most hated in a matter of seconds when he turned his back on DX and aligned himself with the Shane McMahon.

Whether or not fans support Triple H, theres no denying that his career really took off after he left DX. Triple Hs actions since he went solo have not made him popular, but they have made him successful, culminating with him capturing the Federation Championship.

Now, married to Stephanie McMahon, Hunter is back together with his old DX mates, more poised than ever to achieve his goals and prove that he is "The Game."
